Emails

In some of our email messages, we may use a “click-through URL” linked to content on Furry Network. When you click on one of these URLs, they pass through a separate web server before arriving at the destination page on our website. We track this click-through data to monitor the effectiveness of our user communications and to improve Furry Network. If you prefer not to be tracked in this way, you should not click on any text or graphic links in email messages from us.

Pixel tags enable us to send email messages in a format users can read, and they tell us whether mail has been opened. We may use this information to tailor, reduce, or eliminate messages sent to customers.

How we share information

Except as noted, Furry Network does not share your PII with third parties unless given your permission or requested by you to provide services that require sharing such information.

Furry Network shares personal information with companies who provide services such as information processing, transactional email, email newsletters and user activity analysis. These companies are obligated to protect your information and may be located wherever Furry Network operates.

We may disclose PII when required by law or under the good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary in order to conform to applicable law, comply with subpoenas, court orders or legal process served on Furry Network, to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims, and to protect the property and interests of Furry Network, its agents, employees and volunteers, personal safety, or the public. We may also disclose any information if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users.

Under these circumstances, Furry Network may be prohibited by law, court order or other legal process from providing notice of the disclosure, and Furry Network reserves the right to not provide notice at its sole discretion.

Information that we collect from our users, including PII, is considered to be a business asset. If we become part of another organization, including without limitation, by merger, change of control, sale of assets, or other acquisition, go out of business, or enter bankruptcy, your PII may be disclosed or transferred to a third-party acquirer in connection with the transaction.

We offer APIs for use by third parties to access various features and content on Furry Network. Your PII will not be accessed and used by a third party API user without your consent.

Children and Furry Network

We do not intend for children to use Furry Network. We do not solicit or knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age, nor will we accept registration from them. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from any individual(s) under 13 years of age, then we will remove the information from our records and databases as quickly as possible.

Making changes

Furry Network makes it easy for you to keep your personal information accurate, complete and up to date. We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

You can help ensure your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up to date by logging into your account at furrynetwork.com.

For other personal information, we make good-faith efforts to provide you with access so you can request changes to the data if it is inaccurate, or delete it entirely if Furry Network is not required by law to retain it or using it for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law. Access, correction, or deletion requests can be made by contacting us at privacy@furrynetwork.com.

Protection of Personal Information

Furry Network takes precautions to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

Furry Network uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information is collected. To use these web pages, you must use an SSL-enabled browser. Doing so protects the confidentiality of your personal information while it is transmitted over the internet.

When you use some Furry Network services, the personal information you share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these instances. For example, if you list your name and email address in a comment, that information is public. Please take care when using the site and disclosing personal information through it.

Administrators and Moderators of Furry Network may have access to any information you submit to Furry Network, including all communications such as Private Messages or the commission tool. No information or content submitted or uploaded through Private Messages or the commission tool is to be considered guaranteed confidential, or safe from access by individuals other than those you intend it for, even when the information or content is listed as “not public” or referred to as “private” or accessible only by certain people. Furry Network is not to be considered a safe and secure private communications system, as “private content” services are provided as a courtesy for your convenience only.

Updates

Any information that we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time the information is collected by us. However, we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services change and expand. When we change the policy in a meaningful way, a notice will be posted on our website along with the updated Privacy Policy.
